Obsessions & addictions

Obsessions & addictions

The word addict derives from the Latin word addictus, meaning: "given over as one awarded to another as a slave". In other words, any kind of addiction is slavery to a habit, be it a way of thinking or acting.

Addiction can take many forms, from workaholic, spendaholic, food addiction, drug abuse, smoking, compulsive gambling too sex. Any form of obsession or addiction is destructive and has the power to ruin your relationships, your physical and financial health and ultimately your life.

Over 60% of people suffer from addictive behaviour in one form or another. This is quite a scary statistic and the cause of many a relationship break up. And, let's face it, most addicts do not relasise that they fall into this category. Recognising addictive and obsessive behaviour is not as easy as you may think. There are plenty of less obvious extreme behaviour patterns like compulsive relationships seeking, surfing the net, using chat lines, excessive tidyness, perfectionism, procrastination the list goes on...

I have discussed the harmful effects of Geopathic Stress on body and mind and it is clear that the increased strain of harmful geostress and EMF energies on our brains has a lot to do with our inability to centre ourselves. This can easily lead to addictions and obsessive behaviours as we try to escape the constant  stress on our  system. When your body is exposed to the strain of fighting the harmful effects of G.S. just to keep going, You are operating from a deep sand pit and it can feel like you are diggen an ever deeper hole.

Addictive and obsessive behaviour is  a form of self manipulation. The quick fix adrenalin rush clouds over the real issues. You are completely out of touch with yourself. This state has also been aptly called soul deprivation.

When you are caught up in this vicious circle it can be very difficult to re-connect to the world in a balanced way. Talking about things like creating happiness inside is probably like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

If you are caught up in this vicious circle and recognise it, congratulations. Recognition of a problem, any problem will get you closer to its solution, because you have moved to a higher level of perception. You increased your awareness to a point where you have a choice to take positive action. Increasing your awareness is the secret to resolving any issue. Increased awareness can be learned. When you manage to step outside of yourself and observe yourself from a distance you begin to see how you are creating patterns, the good ones, you want to do more of and also the negative ones you want to drop.

Ask yourself theses questions, which area of my life is causing me the greatest distress? Where am I avoiding facing facts? Is it in my relationship? Is money a problem I am not willing to face up too? Is there unresolved grief?  I bet you, you will say yes to one of these, if you are honest. These are the core issues for most people. Perhaps you display patterns of procrastination or you feel insecure and believe that you do not know how to solve your problems? All these thoughts are disempowering and will drive you away from creating happiness and fulfilment in your life. Fortunately, you can change this and take action to get out of the rut. Now, do you have what it takes to lift yourself off the abyss?
