5 keys to happiness

Ask anyone and about their main goals in life and they will say that being happy is one of them.
Everyone wants to be happy. The fact that it is on the wish list of so many tells the real story: We have lost the art of happiness. In the western world life has never been easier, at least on the face of things. Therefore we all should be naturally happy without even thinking about the concept.
Do you say:"I want to brush my teeth every day"? Of course not. You take it for granted that you are able to do so.
Call it paradigm shift, loss of soulfulness, strain of modern living happiness is an elusive art that passes by many and only exists in the minds of most as a vague concept.
Now, since we all want it, what can we do to get it?
Let us take a look at what is required to be happy, really happy at a deep, fulfilling level.
Happiness can only be experienced when you:
- Know yourself intimately
- Are in total harmony with your environment
- Live in the NOW
- Accept your life as it is
- Have an innate understanding of the above principle
So, the theory sounds great, but just how do you go about this happiness business?
Fortunately happiness can be learned. It can be awakened in you, since it is already in your blueprint waiting to be pulled up from the memory bank of your mind's computer.
Recreating the experience of happiness activates the blueprint. This means literally tapping into the memory of happiness. Once you experience the feeling again, you know what to look out for.
Many of my clients acknowledge the fact that they may never have known real happiness, but they do not start out with this observation. Simply because they do not know what true happiness feels like.
In my bereavement recovery workshops I take the participants through a reconnection routine:
We begin by establishing your TRUE values. This exercise is often a very revealing one for the participants, because most of us have no idea what our TRUE values are. TRUE is the key word:
Your true values have been camouflaged with layers of conditioning from early childhood through to adulthood. Sudden change of circumstance, like divorce or the death of a partner, or bankruptcy and redundancy force many into re-evaluating their lives.
At the time you may see this re-evaluation as an inconvenience. It requires you to break away from old comfort zones. You may resent this, or worse, fight it. Don't. Here is a wonderful opportunity to grow and become truly happy, perhaps for the first time in your life.
It can be fun looking at doing things in a new way. The challenge of learning new ways of thinking and connecting with your outside world brings you to life again.
True happiness also demands that you are in harmony with your environment.
I have talked about the need to eliminate the harmful effects of geopathic stress and EMF from your environment. This is the minimum reqirement for harmony with your surroundings. If the energies in your home or office do not flow well, due to geo stress, your brain cannot function properly. Depression, anxiety and fatigue are the consequence. You have to work twice as hard at anything and that affects your ability for happiness.
In my workshops you can learn techniques to test your environment and make the necessary changes to raise energy levels. You will be amazed how much better you feel. How much easier even cumbersome tasks can become.
Living in the now
We are conditioned to project past experiences into future assumptions and make these future assumptions reality upon which we base our actions today. This concept may be great if you have only positive past experiences and memories. For most of us the opposite is the case:
We have had bad experiences, which make us cautious, negative and hold us back, stopping us from embracing new things.
Clearing out your negative past is a pre-requisite for living in the now and being happy. The simple techniques I share in my e-books get you there.
If you are very keen and determined to change your life, attend a workshop where I work with the group releasing old bagage. Groupwork is powerful. You can do so much more work in a group then on your own.
Acceptance, acceptance, acceptance
This is a very potent principle and another foundation for happiness. Where ever you are in your life at present, if you have the ability to quietly accept your situation and trust that the future holds good things for you, you are well on the way to happiness.
And finally, reading this article is a good start. It shows that you are aware of an ingredient in your life that may be lacking. Getting to a point of owning the principles I talked about is the final, ultimate step though.
You can do this by reading books, or attending a workshop.
