The Anatomy of Change

Change is a much feared and often misunderstood thing. It is also one of live's necessities we like to ignore because thinking about it makes us feel uncomfortable. Mostly we fear the unknown consequences of potential change we do not understand as yet. There is also the unspoken assumption that action is required to produce change and we may have problems anticipating the right kind of action required to produce the change. This creates a lot of stress and resistance.
In the end it is easier to stay as we are and to put up with our lot.
What if I told you that change does NOT require Action?
You probably think of all the books you read telling you that change requires massive action. This assumption is totally incorrect though. In fact, it is my experience that forcing action can do more harm then good.
Have you ever found that you forced yourself to produce a solution to a pressing problem and no matter how hard you put your mind to work nothing of any use was forthcoming? You probably found that many ideas popped in your head, but none really stood out as being "the one". So, you did something, just to get some result, any result that might change the status quo of your circumstances. If you were lucky the changes might have been of some benefit. In that case you might reason: " This is better then nothing".
However, sooner or later you will be chomping at the bit again and the process repeats itself.
What if you could simply relax into change?
WHen I work with clients on their problems, the biggest issue by far is to get them to stand back, relax and allow. The reason this is so difficult for us is that most of us don't even know what it means to relax and to allow. It requires a certain amount of practice. We are accustomed to push until the result is produced, even if it makes us ill in the process. It is the way of our western culture and the way we have been taught.
Putting some of the principles of energy psychology to use we can cut out a lot of the hard work.So how do we do this? Admitting that there is a situation we want to change is the first step. I show my clients how to do this in our sessions and in workshops. The next step is to elevate the energy channels in the body using the simple tapping techniques of EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique and other techniques based on EFT but which are even quicker. Before you know it you feel calm, relaxed and energised. This is a good state to be in, no matter how much you think you need to change.
What happens next is this:
Learning to focus and elevate your energy levels increases the flow of blood to the brain producing endorphins or feel good hormones. Now you begin to see yourself or the situation you want to change with much less fear. What was a worry suddenly is something you can live with and allow to unfold. This goes for urgent changes too. Let's face it, most of what you think is urgent, is probably nowhere near as urgent as you have made it in your stressed out mind.
Now your mind can check through its files and sort out which thoughts and behaviours benefit you and which ones don't. As awareness of your situation increases and you start identifying the things which are contributing to your undesirable position you create the right changes automatically. The more aware you become of your thinking, and how you create your personal map of reality in your head the easier it becomes to change a pattern, because now you will want to change it. The desire comes from a deep felt insight: It can only be the new way and therefore, before you know it, you have implemented the desired change without effort.
Try one of my eBooks as a taster and see for yourself how this process work. I am not promising you changes overnight. but I can assure you that with a little regular practice you will make change a lot easier and you will lose the fear of change and the unknown. If you achieved nothing else your life would be so much more relaxed. Think how you could use your newly found free time, now that you stopped worrying about all the changes you want to create in your life!
